Some believe it started  as an earlier<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">phrase, \u201cGod is in the details\u201d and attribute it to a German architect.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Others say it started with a German art historian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<div>Wherever it came from, it refers to the fact that close attention needs<br \/>\nto be paid to even the very smallest details of any task, because<br \/>\nthey can make a larger job more difficult or challenging. They can<br \/>\nprolong a task, cloud an issue or hide a problem.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<div>I\u2019ll certainly say this: <span style=\"color: #888888;\"><strong>divorce is in the details<\/strong><\/span>. And how.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<div>There are pages and pages of information to be filled in as part<br \/>\nof the divorce process. <span style=\"font-size: small;\">Some information is easy to get \u2013 from<br \/>\nyour monthly bills and your bank account statements online.<br \/>\nIt just takes time to pull it all together. And then you have to figure<br \/>\nout how to add it into the forms your lawyer has given you or how<br \/>\nyou are going to get it to them to fill in for you.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<div>Other numbers are trickier to pull together. How much did you<br \/>\nhave in RRSPs on the date of your marriage? What did you have<br \/>\nin your bank account? Is there a cash component to your life<br \/>\ninsurance policy? What would those tools be worth that your dad<br \/>\ngave you before you got married?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #888888;\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><strong> <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong> <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong> <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong> <\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\">We never plan to get divorced.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<div>When we get married,  especially when we are young and just<br \/>\nstarting out in our lives, we are planning for a long life together.<br \/>\nFew, if any of us, keep bank books and credit card statements<br \/>\nfrom the day we were married. I\u2019m sentimental, a keepsake keeper<br \/>\nand very organized and even I don\u2019t have those things! And as the<br \/>\nmajority of us aren\u2019t uber-rich celebrities with legal advisors taking<br \/>\nnote of debts and assets\u00a0before we say our vows, we just don\u2019t have<br \/>\nthese kinds of\u00a0details documented.
