\n<\/span>Actually, I should start by saying, welcome to Divorce Details!
\n<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span>And thank you for wanting to learn more about Divorce Details and
\nfor being interested in finding out what this blog may have to share
\nwith you.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>Starting the blog process is very similar to starting your divorce
\nprocess. You\u2019re not sure what you have to do, how you have to do
\nit and the best way of doing it, but you know something has to be
\ndone. So you do some research, talk to friends and colleagues
\nand then you throw yourself into it. And just do it. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>The one big difference is the kind of emotions I\u2019m dealing
\nwith right now versus when I was thrown headfirst into
\nmy separation and divorce process. I\u2019m excited about this
\nnew venture, which is starting almost two years to the day
\nthat my divorce process started.\u00a0 Emotions were very different
\nback then.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>Divorce is a difficult process.<\/span> <\/strong>You feel like your whole world
\nhas ended. Life is changing, maybe for the better, maybe not\u2026
\nor at least that\u2019s the way it feels at the time. You really do feel
\nlike you\u2019re trying to keep it all together \u2013 your emotions,
\nyour career, your family, your everyday life demands that just
\n<\/span>keep on coming. None of that stops just because your life as a
\nmarried person has come to an end.\u00a0 And then all of a sudden,
\nyou have to deal with all the details that going through a divorce
\ndemands as well.\u00a0 You don\u2019t really think of that in the midst of
\nmaking or reacting to a decision to separate. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>Getting a divorce is about following a legal process. And that
\nmeans a lot of paperwork. <\/strong><\/span>And quite frankly, numbers.
\nA lot of them.<\/strong><\/span> It took me five hours to pull together the numbers
\nI needed for my first meeting with my lawyer. And that was just
\nthe beginning of what I realize now was my fairly quick 14-month
\ndivorce process. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>For many of you, it may be the first time you\u2019ve had to deal with
\nsome or all of these numbers. Maybe you don\u2019t even know where to
\nstart. Or maybe you just don\u2019t have the emotional ability to be able to
\ndeal with all this work at the point you are at right now. Or the time or
\nenergy. It\u2019s taking everything you have to get your family to school,
\nlessons and scheduled activities and yourself to work — or let\u2019s face it,
\nout of bed some mornings — without trying to also pull together what
\nyour lawyer needs. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>I understand. I\u2019ve been there. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>It\u2019s why I decided to start Divorce Details. As I worked through the
\nprocess of my divorce and then helped others, I realized that there
\nwas a need for this kind of service; that I could help people at a time
\nwhen they really needed it.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>As one friend said to me, talk about finding the silver lining in
\nyour divorce!<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

\nI\u2019ll try and share some of my thoughts and learnings with you
\nthrough this blog. I\u2019m not your lawyer. Or your financial advisor,
\nor mediator or even your counsellor. I\u2019m hoping I can be a guide and
\nhelp you find your way through the maze you are facing. <\/span><\/div>\n
